The history of Massiv-Holz-Mauer®

MHM – behind this abbreviation are many years and an immense amount of experience from the field of mechanical engineering and the woodwork industry. Not to mention the inquiring mind of its inventor. The Massiv-Holz-Mauer® has developed into a high-tech construction material, maybe because it originates from a world-leading mechanical engineering company for timber processing machines.

Thus, the successful story of MHM Entwicklungs GmbH is simultaneously the story of its inventor, Hans Hundegger and their older sister, Hans Hundegger Maschinenbau situated in Hawangen, near Memmingen, founded in 1978 and which was chosen as one of Bavaria’s best 50 by the Bavarian government in 2006, making it one of the most dynamic companies in Bavaria.

As early as 2005, the year of the patenting, around 20 buildings were assembled in a very short construction time for trendsetting developers. The 250th house had already been produced in October 2006. At the beginning of 2012, we were able to celebrate the assembly of 2900 MHM houses in Germany; internationally there are around 5000 MHM buildings.

Due to keen demand, the Massiv-Holz-Mauer® production line has been built in series since 2004. Wall elements are currently being manufactured internationally on 28 Massiv-Holz-Mauer® production lines (status 2011) by various timber construction companies.
We are very pleased about this great demand and will continue to set trends in timber construction.

The founder of our company, Hans Hundegger, describes what motivated him to invent Massiv-Holz-Mauer®. Read the interview…You can read more about Hans Hundegger AG on their website http://www.hundegger.de/.
